1945 - Liberation - VE Day
The liberation of Paris in 1944 was a military and psychological turning point towards the end of the war. Allied troops, having forced the surrender of the German garrison in the French capital, continued to march through the continent, freeing other cities and countries from the tyranny of Nazi occupation.
